Frank Doran, a member of Malvern Catenian Association Circle, is pictured following a party with his Catenian Association colleagues at The Worcestershire Golf Club. Frank reached 100 years of age in February and a celebration cake was shared with his Catenian friends, their wives and his son, Gerry. Also pictured is Catenian Circle President, John Duddington who recalled to the party a brief summary of Frank’s tremendous lifetime achievements. 

Frank was a founder member of Malvern Catenians, inaugurated in 1972, who have met monthly ever since (Pandemics excluded). A trained teacher of History, Frank in 1963 also founded Blessed Edward Oldcorne School in Worcester and served as Headmaster.

During the war with Germany Frank served with the 15th Air Formation Signals, taking part in the D Day landings – Gold Beach, subsequently fighting his way  across Northern France, Belgium, Holland and into Germany. He set up the first land – line contact with Paris. He has subsequently been awarded the French “Legion d’Honneur” medal.

On his Birthday Frank received a congratulatory card from King Charles and Queen Camilla together with a framed Blessing from Pope Francis.
