Is this a first? A meeting in a Yurt?

Shrewsbury had its annual Mass & Mingle session on the 20th. January in the presence of National Vice President Phil Brown and Linda, his wife.

Unfortunately, our usual venue had a double booking and, as a result, we were asked if we would use the Yurt for our meeting. It turned out to be a lovely venue, warm and cosy and comfortable too.

Br Phil has written to the Circle thanking us for a lovely day and for the opportunity to listen to Brothers and outline his ideas for the development of the association.

He also thanked us for the flowers and Linda added her thanks for the Champagne (in a fit of modernity we reversed the usual order of gifts, much to the approval of the ladies in the room).

From time to time our Circle holds its annual President’s Mass in an ancient/historic church somewhere in Shropshire. In 2014 it was at St Mary’s in the village of Leighton, near Telford – built in 1716 on the site of a mediaeval church. An excellent buffet followed at the home of the then President, Derek Hargrave.
